Day care blames another child for 1-year-old boy's severe injuries

May 2nd 2018 INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WXIN) —
Officials from the day care where a mother says her 1-year-old son was severely beaten say they believe an investigation will clear them of any wrongdoing.

Monday night, Tiffany Griffin told WXIN she received a call from a day care worker at the Kiddiegarden on East 38th Street, notifying her that her child had been injured. When she arrived, Griffin said her 1-year-old son Jesse had cuts to his face, and both of his eyes and lips were swollen. Griffin says she was told another child was responsible for the assault.

In a statement sent to WXIN, the day care owner said:

"We are deeply saddened about what took place yesterday afternoon to Jesse. We at Kiddiegarden pride ourselves on not only providing quality service to families, but also providing a clean, safe and healthy environment for all of our children since we opened our doors three years ago. Kiddiegarden has never had any accusations of abuse or maltreatment from any of our children or parents. This was truly a sad, shocking and unfortunate event. We have been diligently working with law enforcement, child protective services, as well as state agencies on this matter. We have been fully cooperative and transparent with law enforcement to complete their investigation. Our hearts go out to Jesse and his family and are praying for his well being. Due to this still being an ongoing investigation, we are not at liberty to disclose any further details. We have confidence in the detectives who are handling the investigation to give us a final report of the incident, which we will make public. At that time we will make another statement addressing the matter."

Due to the extent of Jesse’s injuries, Griffin doesn’t believe that a child was responsible.

"It's no way a baby, a 2-year-old and that baby was small and she didn't look like she was the violent type, and her mom said she wasn't the violent type. Her mom said scratches her baby might do, but when she saw that picture she started crying and said her baby wouldn't do anything like that," Griffin said.

During an off-camera conversation with Kiddiegarden officials on Tuesday, WXIN was told the day care believes they will be able to prove a child was responsible for the injuries and not an employee. They expressed that they will also be able to prove that proper steps were taken after the attack when the investigation concludes.

Griffin says Jesse underwent an MRI on Tuesday and likely will be in the hospital for a few days. Family also sent WXIN a video of the toddler in better spirits, laughing and playing.

Witchy's fur is flying :
You have to be  kidding . Where the HELL were the daycare workers HIDING .
Did  you  notice  that  the  kid  is one  years old ?  So that means  he's  in a  crib  by himself .  Looks like  the  Daycare  is covering  for  an  abusive  adult .
It doesn't make a difference if a child did that or not,(which I don't believe), the daycare is still responsible. What were they doing while Jesse was getting the hell beat out of him? That's what they're getting paid for, watching ALL of the children. What were the daycare workers doing while this poor baby was being beaten?  Aren't they supposed to be in charge of each and every minute that children are placed in their care?  And now they are trying to blame another child for the beating this poor baby was given.  No 2 year old could have caused this much damage to another baby.  I hope the mother sues the pants off of that organization and that it is shut down for good.
No baby can  inflict that kind of harm onto another baby.  That poor baby endured a beating. I can only imagine the pain  the mother is suffering.
A word to  Jesse's  parents ....
Time to lawyer up. Regardless of who did it, where were the employees when the supposed "Other kid" did this? Negligence on day cares part.  When it comes to kids, there is zero tolerance.  Doesn't matter the race of the child, this is wrong on all counts
I am mad as hell .

  1. No two year old did that to the baby. That was a systematic beating from an abusive adult. A two year old might scratch or pull a child's hair and then lose interest. There is no excuse on this earth to do that to a baby. It may have been racial. There is always that to consider. give 'em hell BAW.
