Home-Made Shamrock Shake

(ABC News / McDonalds)
Every year to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, McDonald's releases its beloved Shamrock Shake, a bright green vanilla-mint milkshake. We think we've found a reasonable facsimile. See how easy it is to re-create the shake at home:

Ingredients:
2 cups vanilla bean ice cream
1/4 cup half-and-half
5 drops peppermint extract
5-6 drops green food coloring
Whipped cream, for topping
1 maraschino cherry, optional
Directions In a blender, combine ice cream, half-and-half, peppermint extract, and food coloring, and blend for 30 seconds. Pour into a tall glass, top with whipped cream, and garnish with a cherry.  Yield 1 large milkshake .
