A photo of an adorable baby waiting to meet her soldier father for the first time has racked up more than 1.5million ‘likes’ on Facebook.
It shows seven-month-old baby Harper Tesar with a Carly Rae Jepsen-inspired poster, which reads: ‘Hey I just met you and this is crazy, but my name’s Harper and I’m your baby!’

The snap was taken just moments before Harper met her father, US Army Specialist Cole Tesar, who was returning from a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan.

It was later posted on the Facebook page of WOWT, a news website in Omaha, Nebraska, before being shared by thousands on the social network.

Officer Cole said he ‘couldn’t believe how fast it went viral’, adding it was a ‘special moment’ when he held his daughter for the first time.

‘It is kind of different because it is my own baby; it is our own blood. It is definitely special, and it is a pretty good feeling,’ he said.

He added that knowing he would be returning home to start a family kept him going during his time away.

The pair spent their first hours together watching cartoons.

The sign reads, 'Hey I just met you, and this is crazy but my name's Harper, and I'm your baby!' WOWT posted about Harper's sign on Facebook and it went viral, getting 1.5 million likes and more than 14,000 comments.

The reunion is extra amazing because Army Specialist Cole Tesar wasn't able to meet his baby until now.

'Harper was born while her father Cole was serving in Afghanistan. He had only seen his baby via skype.'

As you can imagine, he's thrilled to be back.

'When it was all said and done I wanted to be with my family, and be able to hold my baby for the first time and be back with Logan and start a family,' he said.

One of the first things on their agenda when they got home? Watching cartoons, of course!
