But I love Bananas !

Grab a banana on your way out the door this morning? That may be part of the reason why you can’t seem to drop those last five pounds.
“Bananas seem like the perfect option to grab and go in the morning, but with a closer look, you’ll find that bananas eaten alone aren’t the best option because they’re 25 per cent sugar and moderately acidic,” Dr. Daryl Gioffre, creator of the AlkaMind diet tells Byrdie.
While bananas are known for being a good source of potassium, magnesium and fiber, Gioffre points out that they’re also packed with sugar. Even though this is a natural sweetener, it causes sugar levels in the body to spike.
“They’ll give you a quick boost, but you’ll soon be tired and feeling hungry,” he says.
Gioffre warns that you should never eat a banana alone or immediately after a meal as it can lead to increased cravings and feelings of fatigue.
But what if you really love bananas? Not to worry, you don’t have to completely eliminate them.

Gioffre suggests pairing bananas with a healthy fat or spice that will help neutralize the acids and slow down how your body metabolizes the sugar.
“Because bananas are acidic, you’ll have to neutralize the acid to get the benefits of potassium, fiber, and magnesium without the sugar rush,” he says.
Time to grab some almond butter and cinnamon to go with that banana!

GREAT BANANA PUDDING

Diver saves Whale shark

A dive team stumbles across a whale shark trapped in a commercial fishing line. Sensing the diver is there to help, the goliath lies still while the rope is cut. The rope had cut deeply into the shark's body . It must have been there for years because it was covered in barnacles.  Imagine the relief to feel the painful constriction cut away. The giant slowly glided away .  Just to have been instrumental in saving him from his torturous bonds was all the thanks the diver needed.

Aunt Jeannie :Let's play a little choose your own adventure.

Here is the Muir Glacier and Inlet in Alaska.
The black-and-white picture is from Sept. 2, 1892. Guess when the color photo is from.
Aug. 11, 2005.

Below, the black-and-white photo of the Muir Glacier and Inlet is from the 1880s or '90s.
The color photo? Aug. 11, 2005.
Here's a slo-mo of another shot of the Muir Glacier from 1899 to 2003.
And again the Muir Glacier from 1899...... to 2003.

Don't these all now look like summery destinations!?!

Oh wait. These are GLACIERS? In Alaska?
Yeah. :(

Let's play a little choose your own adventure.

Adventure A :

What happens if we, the Earthlings of Earth, do nothing?

Let's suppose that climate change is either happening or not actually happening (despite overwhelming scientific consensus, BTW).

1. If climate change is not really happening ... we're fine. (Even though there is overwhelming scientific consensus that it IS happening, so it might seem a little silly for us to think that it's not happening ... but we're doing a thought experiment!)

2. If climate change is actually happening and we do NOTHING ... we have economic, social, political, environmental, and health catastrophes the likes of which have never been seen on Earth. :( Basically, the world as we know it is dunzo.

Adventure A's choices: We bet against overwhelming scientific consensus in the hopes that overwhelming scientific consensus is wrong ... or we suffer economic, social, political, environmental, and health catastrophes the likes of which have never been seen on Earth. Not to be all tree-hugger here, but it's kind of a no-brainer for me.

We do not choose this adventure!!!

Adventure B :

What happens if we, the Earthlings of Earth, take action?
1. If climate change is not really happening ... we'll have spent lots of money investing in clean energy that has been proven to create tons of jobs. It might strain our economy, but there will be more jobs because we'll be investing in new industries. So we'll have more jobs and the air will at least be nicer.

2. If climate change is actually happening ... we'll have spent money in exactly the right place, breathing will be awesome, people will have jobs, and we'll be fine. It's a simple adventure because it's simple. Doing something about climate change simply prepares the world for easy livin'.

I CHOOSE ADVENTURE B2!!!

The way I see it, there's a choice to invest money in not having a catastrophe + jobs and happy people, or there's a choice to roll the dice on catastrophe, not invest in jobs, and make it harder to breathe.

What's your choice?
I know mine. It's so. so. SO. clear.
Thanks to this magical YouTube video by wonderingmind42 for the action-versus-no-action on global climate change inspiration.

Aunt Jeannie ,  we asked daddy to post this for us ,   Jenny  says she  know what adventure you will  choose  because you started mama  on her adventure .

Maxy sez : 8 Things You Didn’t Know Could Affect Blood Sugar

By Denise Mann Reviewed by Farrokh Sohrabi, MD
Brush Up on Blood-Sugar Control :
As you likely already know, keeping blood glucose (sugar) levels stable is crucial to type 2 diabetes management. If blood sugar swings too high, problems can develop: If untreated, it can potentially lead to a diabetic coma, according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Over time high blood sugar levels can lead to complications such as heart disease, kidney disease, and nerve damage. And when blood sugar falls too low, shakiness, nervousness, anxiety, confusion, and eventually seizure or loss of consciousness may occur, the ADA says. You may know that skipping meals can lead to low blood sugar and bingeing on carbs can cause blood sugar to spike. But many surprising factors can also cause blood sugar highs and lows — and knowing about these eight may just make a big difference to your diabetes management.
Happy Hour :
Alcohol — especially when combined with sweet mixers like soda, fruit juice, or margarita mix — can spike blood sugar levels, says Kristine S. Arthur, MD, an internist at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Fountain Valley, California. But excessive drinking can cause blood sugar to drop to dangerously low levels, as well. "Alcohol can push blood sugar too far in either direction," she says. The ADA suggests that if you drink, alcohol should be limited to no more than one drink a day for women and no more than two drinks a day for men. Alcohol can also interfere with medications you might be on for other health conditions, however, so check first with your doctor to see how much is safe for you to drink .
Stress :
Whether it's good stress (like the excitement of planning a wedding or a new baby) or bad stress (like pressure at work or problems in a relationship), feeling stressed can get in the way of your blood sugar control, Dr. Arthur says. “Stress can directly cause high blood sugar, and it can also result in changes in behavior — such as skipping meals or drinking more alcohol — that affect blood sugar," she says. Arthur suggests healthy coping strategies such as going for a walk when you're feeling overwhelmed. Other healthy ways to lower stress include yoga, meditation, or taking deep breaths, she says.
Feeling Under the Weather :
“When you have an infection, are sick, or have recently had surgery, your blood sugar can be all over the place,” Arthur says. The stress that illness puts on your body, she explains, causes blood sugar to ebb and flow. “Some of the same hormones produced to fight illness can also cause your blood sugar to rise,” she says. In addition, you may not feel like eating when you don’t feel good, and this can cause blood sugar levels to fall. Arthur’s suggestion: Talk with your doctor when you're feeling good about how to monitor and treat your diabetes when you're sick. When you are sick, follow your doctor’s instructions — or check in with him or her if you don’t remember what to do. On that note…
Medications and Supplements :
Lots of medications can affect blood sugar, Arthur says. Some over-the-counter cough medicines contain sugar, and decongestants and other cold medications can also raise blood sugar levels. Other medications that can affect blood sugar include steroids, some diuretics, and some antidepressants. “When in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice,” Arthur suggests. “It’s also a good idea to let your doctor know about any and all supplements or vitamins you are taking, as these may affect your blood sugar levels.”
Your Daily Cup of Java :
Even a single serving of coffee may affect post-meal blood sugar levels, according to a study in the August 2015 issue of the British Journal of Nutrition. Plus, common coffee and tea additions such as cream and sugar can cause a spike in blood sugar, Arthur says. If you have type 2 diabetes, she suggests you talk with a certified diabetes educator, nutritionist, or doctor to find out exactly how much caffeine is OK for you.
Extreme Exercise :
Exercise is good for you if you have diabetes, so extreme exercise should be extremely good for you, right? Not so fast. “If you don’t eat snacks or you skip a meal, you run the risk of developing dangerously low blood sugar — especially with high-impact exercise,” Arthur says. Avoid this scenario by checking your blood sugar before you exercise and always packing healthy snacks when you’re going to work out. If you’re not sure how much exercise you should be getting, check in with your doctor or diabetes educator.
Diet Soda :
The old school of thought was that diet sodas were OK for people with diabetes because they are sugar- and calorie-free — but that thinking has changed, says Dana Greene, RD, a nutritionist in Boston. In fact, diet sodas may actually contribute to blood sugar problems: Artificial sweeteners found in diet soda and sugar substitutes may alter gut microbes in a way that increases the risk for type 2 diabetes and glucose intolerance, according to a study published in 2014 in the journal Nature. Take this challenge; Arthur suggests: “If you drink a lot of diet sodas and are having a hard time controlling your sugars, cut back on soda and see if there is a difference in your blood sugar control.”
Hormonal Highs and Lows :
Hormonal changes — like those that come during the menstrual cycle or menopause —– can wreak havoc on blood sugar levels, Arthur says. “Not all women will experience these changes," she notes, "but if you are one of them, keep a journal and discuss any changes with your doctor so the two of you can develop an action plan.”

Dead baby wakes up in morgue

One month-old baby declared dead and kept in a morgue for 15 hours wakes up crying minutes before being CREMATED Little boy, An An, was born prematurely in Jinhua, east China, on January 8 He was pronounced dead on February 4 after being closely monitored As staff prepared his body for cremation the next day they heard him cry.

Staff at the Pan'an Funeral Home in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, immediately took the month-old boy to the hospital after realising he was still alive on February 5, reports the People's Daily Online.

The baby, who is called An An, is currently under intensive care at the Pan'an People's Hospital. According to reports, the baby was born prematurely in a local hospital in Jinhua on January 8, weighing 49 ounces.  After spending 23 days in an incubator at the Pan'an People's Hospital, his family decided to take him home for Chinese Near Year. There, his condition deteriorated.

The boy's father named Mr Lu told reporters his son suddenly went pale two days afterwards, so he rushed his son to hospital for emergency treatment on February 4.
On the same day, the doctors determined the boy had a cardiac arrest and pronounced him dead at the hospital.

After the hospital issued a death certificate, his father wrapped the 'dead' baby in two layers of clothing and put him in a plastic bag before taking him to the morgue of the Pan'an Funeral Home at around 6pm on February 4.
The father showed reporters a receipt issued by the funeral home, which confirmed the boy had been sent to the morgue and that the price of the funeral would be 1,000 Yuan .

At 9am on February 5, after about 15 hours, staff at the funeral home said they heard him crying as they prepared for his cremation. A worker at the funeral home told a local TV station: 'As soon as I pulled his container out of the morgue, I thought I heard noises. When I pushed him to the crematory, the noises became louder.
'I opened the container and saw him moving, so I told the father the baby was still alive.' The baby was quickly rushed back to hospital.

According to the director of the funeral home, the freezer temperature was -12 degrees Celsius inside the morgue. Doctors at the Pan'an People's Hospital in east China said this was their first encounter of such an incident. They could not explain what had happened, referring to it as a 'miracle.'

Doctor Chen, head of pediatrics, said: 'I have been a pediatrician for over 20 years. I've never seen anything like this.'  The baby boy is now under intensive care.
